Project Description

The Mauritius Institute of Training and Development (MITD) needed a comprehensive evaluation of their fire alarm installations in the SITEC training centre to ensure that students were not at risk and to ensure that fire clearance regulations were met. This was urgent as the new batch of students was about to take up studies at the school.

The complex has several buildings and they all had to be surveyed within a short period of time. Our brief was to assess the state of the existing systems and their compliance with current regulations. We were also asked to identify any additional risk which might not be covered by the existing systems and to produce a cost estimate for all remedial works.

The visual inspections, functional testing of all detectors, panels, sirens, cabling and power supply were all done in less than a week, when we were able to supply a comprehensive report and a list of remedial works required.

We also helped MITD by designing , procuring and supervising the works and ensuring that the school was complete safe to welcome students for the new term and able to comply with all fire clearance regulations.
